Five Color Announcement - Get Ready

Three of us on the 5CRC have, by fiat, decided to recreate a new Five Color.

The new rules:

Minimum deck size and color requirements:

* 300 cards minimum.
* No more than four of any card (except basic lands). Banned and restricted lists do apply.
* At least twenty five (25) cards of each color are required. Multicolored cards count toward any one of that card's colors.
* Proxies are allowed for any number of cards in a deck.

A brand new B&R list with a ton of cards pulled off.

We are still in the process of pulling of the cards. The new, 5C Fiat council is:

Abe Sargent
Andrew Cahill
Jeremy Bush
Kevin Cron

And no, this is not a new 5CRC or anything. We're the just the guys making the rules.

Note that some changes we've done include pulling the tutors off the banned list and putting them back on the +R list, for a start. Wishes have been pulled off. Time Walk is unbanned and back to restricted. Contract from Below is unbanned and errated to only ante when you play it if you are playing for ante. The language to remove it from your deck is pulled. Thus, CFB is now a B sorcery, discard your hand, draw 7 card
with no drawback. This retains the coolness of the card without the ante problems of the past.

You may now add a bunch of cards back to your decks, like Intuition, Contract from Below, Vampiric Tutor, Tinker, Yawgmoth's Will, Wild Research, Survival of the Fittest, Vampiric Tutor, Imperial Seal, Mystical Tutor, Oath of Druids, Personal Tutor - all pulled off the banned list and restricted.

The following cards will be changed on Aug 1:

Wild Research -R

The combination of the discard cost, plus the fact that there just aren't enough good targets for this card.

Panoptic Mirror -B, +R

This card is slightly better than Tezzeret the Seeker, which roams free. It costs a lot to cast and is easy to destroy.

Windfall -R

This card is just not good.

Cruel Tutor -R

Much worse than Vampiric Tutor.

Weathered Wayfarer -R

Extremely fragile, almost useless late game.

Hey look, some spam!

I am going to be so behind the curve when it comes time to play 5-color again. However, I'm happy to see some big changes. Feels like there was a lot of stagnation for far too long.
